I've been to the Rum Runner a few times now, all for Packer games. My most recent visit we showed up three hours before the game to have lunch until we had to take our friend to the airport. Both the bar and the cafe next door had some guests, but neither were close to full. The bar staff was friendly, but service was pretty slow. We asked for the current food menu, and it took about 15 minutes for the staff to get back to us on which menu they were serving. We put in our order and waited.
And waited and waited. Twenty minutes later that the kitchen was behind, and that the waitress would put in our order. At this point we mentioned that we eventually had to leave for the airport, and were surprised our order hadn't even made it to the kitchen yet. The waitress said she would see what she could do, and let her know what time we would be leaving at.
So we waited and waited, and our departure time came without seeing the waitress again. We were hoping she would at least come by and let us know that our order wouldn't make it. But since we couldn't find her, so we settled up for our drinks and left. It's understandable to expect long waits during the game when the place is packed and everyone is ordering food i've patiently waited 90 minutes for a burger during game time , but the place was barely busy so I would hate to see what the kitchen looked like later.
All in all, the food is usually pretty good, and the staff is generally friendly, but don't expect service to be timely.
The atmosphere during Packer games is great, and its fun to come, but the kitchen needs to be more efficient or the staff needs to better relay expected wait times to their guests. The Hungry Detective returned to the Rum Runner thirty years later!!! This was the place to be in the 80's and now in !!!
Pool tables galore and plenty of Green Bay Packers memorabilia. Great food and drinks!!! Stopped for a lunch simply because it is advertised as a Packer bar. Didn't see any other Packer fans when we were there.. I think it is just mainly locals and not necessary Packer fans.
Food was just ok.. No conventional seating in actual bar so we sat in adjoining room.. Probably will not go back unless we would happen to be there during football season. This is a fantastic sports bar and grill. Best burgers and wings in town, low prices, great service, many TVs for sports, big pool area Own or manage this property?
